A child seemingly filled with rage
But unable to navigate emotionally
I couldn’t process the mess in my brain
I couldn’t contain, so it came out
Through my seams
Now that I’m grown

The trauma trickles down the family tree
Like rain drops
But this is where I cut the branch
I will adopt & raise that child
With the love that raised me
I won’t pass on my fight
I choose to save a life
That didn’t ask to be left behind

Waves bring a creature to shore whether it swims or not
Ramparts crumble, besieged or at peace
A man of many colors only shows his true form after the long rain
His face made grey in disdain for his own wealth of pity

A mascot for the ever-present woes of a regressing mankind
